Once these feelings get a grip on your life, they can spiral out of control. Depression is however surprisingly common, with around 1 in 10 people experiencing it at some point in their life. However, its only when this feeling becomes prolonged and unnatural in its behaviour, that people begin to realise they have a problem. Even then, many do nothing about it, and go undiagnosed as they try to cope with the stresses of life, further spiralling down into deeper or longer bouts of depression.
Many sufferers also believe that depression is not a real illness and admitting it is a form of weakness or admission of failure, whereas in reality the opposite is actually true.
